Start with movement, not a catalogue
Small bathrooms fail when attractive fittings leave no comfortable route through the room. We first consider the door swing, standing space, shower entry and how easily drawers or cupboards can open.
Short-projection sanitaryware, wall-hung furniture and a carefully sized shower can release floor space without making the room feel under-equipped.

Calm materials make the room feel larger
A small room does not have to be plain. The trick is to control the number of visual breaks. Repeating a finish, aligning grout lines and keeping storage off the floor can create a longer, cleaner view.
Dark details can still work beautifully when they frame the design instead of dividing every surface.
